As a resident of this community, we would like to invite you to discuss with us the risk of tick exposure in the area, as well as your personal experiences with ticks and prevention methods you undertake to reduce risks. We will also discuss our research findings to date and our future plans. We look forward to any feedback you can provide.
For this purpose, we are holding a 1-hour meeting scheduled at different convenient locations and times on Staten Island:
- March 8th 2pm – JCC Manor Rd.
- March 9th 1pm – Huguenot Library
- March 9th 5pm – JCC Manor Rd.
- March 10th 1pm – CYO-MIV Community Center – Mount Loretto
We will inform participants of the exact location of the meetings in advance. The meetings will be completely confidential. Notes will be taken, but we will not ask for participants’ names. Also, we will include a $20 Amazon gift card to thank you for your participation. Snacks and beverages will be available.
We greatly appreciate your feedback, suggestions and concerns so we can improve our research project and have a better understanding of how people are exposed to ticks in the community. And, we look forward to your input on the different intervention strategies that can be undertaken to reduce tick-borne diseases. Please let us know if you would like to attend by sending an email to [email protected] or a text message to 347-677-2988.
